Why distil, not write long
One note answers one question. If three paragraphs do it, there is no fourth.
The most common way experience goes to waste is being written up at length and never finished. Every note here answers one question, with the answer in the first sentence.
To distil is to strip out what was accidental about an experience and keep only what will work again. What is left is usually short.
These notes get revised. The date is when a note last changed, not when it first appeared.
